BrainLog, together with our long-standing partners from the Danish Prison Officers Union (Fængselsforbundet i Danmark), was invited to deliver a guest lecture at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense.
The day at SDU began with a guest lecture and brought together law students interested in correctional justice, education, and social reintegration. We had the opportunity to present and discuss several of our European Erasmus+ initiatives, developed in collaboration with our international partners:

🔹 CCJ4C – Career Counselling for Staff in Criminal Correctional Justice (2020–2023)
Laid the foundation for dialogue between justice, education, and social reintegration by developing the European Framework of competencies and policy recommendations for prison staff continuous education and upskilling.
🔹 M4Pris project – Mentoring for Prison Staff (2022–2025)
A BrainLog-coordinated project building a European peer mentoring programme to support professional development and well-being among prison staff.
🔹Promote Project – Promoting Recognition of Skills in the Correctional Field (2024–2028)
Our first Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) project, promoting the recognition and validation of skills across correctional and justice systems.
🔹 RESIZE (2025–2029) – Reshaping Correctional Competencies through RESCALED Innovation: for current and future workforce adaptation based on profiles of competencies, recognition of prior learning, and micro-credentials.

The session encouraged an open discussion with students about the goals and challenges of our projects—exploring how education, justice, and social inclusion can work together to support rehabilitation and professional growth in correctional environments.
After the lecture, the day continued with the Multiplier Event for the M4Pris Project, co-hosted with SDU and the Danish Prison Officers Union. CLICK HERE and learn more about our Multiplier event.
We are grateful to SDU Odense for the invitation and to all the students who took part with enthusiasm and critical reflection. Collaboration between academia, practitioners, and civil society continues to be key in shaping innovative and humane correctional systems.
