BrainLog had the honour of joining the Fourth Forum on Vocational Excellence in Kolding, Denmark, an event that brought together educators, policymakers, NGOs, and innovators from across Europe.
Our presentation reflected BrainLog’s growing engagement in the field of correctional education and vocational training.

CCJ4C – Cross-sectoral Cooperation for the Training of Correctional Centres (2019–2021)
CCJ4C brought together educators, prison staff, and NGOs to develop training approaches for correctional centres and to open up a new dialogue on education in justice environments.
It marked the beginning of our involvement in building bridges between justice, education, and social reintegration.
M4Pris project – Mentoring for Prison Staff (2022–2025)
Coordinated by BrainLog, this project is creating a structured peer mentoring programme for prison staff across Europe. The aim is to strengthen professional competencies, support continuous training, and improve the quality of correctional education and rehabilitation services.
Project Partners: Danish Prison Officers Union (Denmark), Department of Accountancy at KULeuven, @Sindicatul National al Politistilor de Penitenciare (Romania), APROXIMAR Cooperativa de Solidariedade Social (Portugal), @Athens Lifelong Learning Institute (Greece), and Asociatia Vis Juventum (Romania)
Promote – Promoting Recognition of Skills in the Correctional Field (2023–2026)
BrainLog’s first Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) project, developed together with CPIP Romania – Centrul pentru Promovarea Invatarii Permanente and all project partners.
Promote focuses on recognising and validating the competences of professionals in correctional and justice systems, ensuring their skills are valued within European training frameworks.

RESIZE – Reintegration and Skills for Inclusive Employment (2024–2027)
The newest initiative in our portfolio.
RESIZE designs innovative solutions for workforce development and reintegration, addressing the challenges of individuals returning to society after incarceration and helping professionals build the skills needed in modern labour markets.
Our work would not be possible without our long-standing partnership with CPIP Romania – Centrul pentru Promovarea Invatarii Permanente and Danish Prison Officers Union , a collaboration built on trust, expertise, and shared values. Together, we have been shaping projects that go beyond national borders, responding to real challenges faced by correctional systems, and contributing to inclusive and innovative educational policies.
Through these initiatives, we emphasized how Centres of Vocational Excellence can act as drivers of change by:
- Promoting lifelong learning opportunities for diverse professionals, including correctional staff.
- Creating interdisciplinary networks that connect NGOs, educators, and justice institutions.
- Building frameworks for skills recognition and validation, ensuring that competencies are valued across Europe.
- Supporting the goals of the Liberate Skills Pact, turning collaboration into long-term impact for education, justice, and labour market integration.

For BrainLog, participating in the Forum was not only about presenting our results, but also about engaging in dialogue with European stakeholders, sharing challenges, and learning from other CoVE initiatives that are shaping the future of vocational education and training.
