Today, BrainLog had the pleasure of participating in the webinar “Digital Gaps, Digital Solutions for Education in Challenging Environments”, hosted by the European Digital Education Hub — an EU flagship initiative under the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan, which brings together policy, research, and practice to support innovation and cooperation in digital education across Europe and beyond.
The webinar offered important reflections on how education can continue and evolve even in the most difficult circumstances. A particularly powerful part of the discussion focused on Ukraine, where the war has deeply affected education systems, daily life, and access to learning. At the same time, these challenges have also accelerated digital transformation, showing how digital tools and innovative approaches can help maintain access to education, strengthen resilience, and create new possibilities for learning even in times of crisis.

This transformation is not only about technology itself, but about its wider benefits: greater flexibility, wider access to knowledge, stronger inclusion, and the possibility to support learners and professionals even when traditional systems are disrupted. It is a reminder that digitalization, when used meaningfully, can help build stronger and more future-oriented educational environments.
The session was a valuable opportunity to reflect on how digitalization and innovation can help make education more accessible, inclusive, and responsive, especially in complex and challenging environments. A particularly important part of the webinar was the presentation of the
hashtag #RESIZE project and its Digital Interactive Map.
#RESIZE is a European project focused on strengthening skills development and improving learning opportunities within correctional environments across Europe. One of its key contributions is the #RESIZE Interactive Map, a practical digital tool that allows users to explore different countries individually and better understand their correctional systems, existing competencies, and training realities. This makes the map especially valuable for professionals, educators, researchers, and project developers, as it brings together knowledge in an accessible and engaging way and supports comparison, exchange of practices, and informed cooperation across countries.
At BrainLog, we see a strong connection between these discussions and our work in both the #RESIZE and Promote projects. Through these initiatives, we contribute to innovation, professional development, and improved learning opportunities within the justice system. In a field where education, rehabilitation, staff capacity, and inclusion are all essential, digital tools and modern learning approaches can play an important role in creating more responsive, accessible, and sustainable systems.
The experience of Ukraine also reminds us that even in times of crisis, education and innovation can become drivers of resilience and positive change. This message strongly resonates with our work. Through #RESIZE and Promote, we support the development of a better future in the justice sector, one where skills, knowledge, digital solutions, and international cooperation help create stronger professionals, stronger institutions, and ultimately more inclusive and resilient societies.
A big thank you to the organizers for such an insightful and inspiring webinar.
