PROMOTE Project—Promoting Integrated Professional Development for Prison Practitioners in the Field of Vocational Excellence for Offender Reintegration—is a pioneering, multidisciplinary initiative co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme under the Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE). Its mission is to elevate the competencies of correctional professionals, including reintegration specialists, psychologists, social workers, and medical staff, by equipping them with an integrated, learner-centred set of skills tailored for effective offender reintegration across Europe
We have recently published a press release unveiling key insights and recommendations to strengthen the European reintegration framework. The content is available in Danish and English.
Why does this matter?
Investing in better reintegration systems is a strategic imperative, as it cuts reoffending rates, bolsters public safety, enhances social cohesion, and ultimately proves far more cost-effective than repeated incarceration
This important information has been gathered by having DACUM workshops in 8 countries, 100+ surveys, and 20+ interviews per country.
Reading the Press Release, will grant you insights into the following:
- What skills correctional professionals across Europe really need.
- New occupational profiles aligned with ESCO.
- What the best practices for offender reintegration and prison staff training are.
- The forming of a European Ecosystem of Correctional Skills.
All these factors will help shape the future with a better reintegration system across Europe.
