🌍 Exciting Insights from the BrainLog Workshop in Odense! Â
In week 42, BrainLog hosted an incredible two-day workshop in Odense (Language opens doors, collaboration makes friendship) combined with a Transnational Project Management Meeting. During the 2-days experience, we joined forces with our international partners and a group of enthusiastic students from Denmark, Finland, and Lithuania.Â
This collaborative experience was not just about sharing knowledge; it was a celebration of culture, creativity, and connection!

Day 1: Cultivating connectionsÂ
We kicked off our first day with enthusiastic introductions, setting a warm and welcoming tone. Diyana and Martin, from BrainLog, laid the groundwork, while Daiva, from Soros International House, inspired us with insights about the project.
Our Icebreaker – an inventive Name Game – brought everyone together as participants translated chosen animals into Danish, English, Finnish, and Lithuanian, creating a playful and multilingual atmosphere.
The energy was vibrant as we transitioned into a Memory Game, where participants divided into teams to test their recall skills. The friendly competition was an excellent way to foster solidarity among students from different backgrounds.
Next, we gathered around to provide feedback for our language learning platform, sharing ideas and suggestions categorized into language, culture, platform functionality, and general improvements. The collaborative spirit shone through as each voice contributed to the development of a more inclusive online presence.
As the day progressed, we engaged in sharing moving stories about minority languages and cultures. Each country presented two collected stories, which led to insightful discussions. Reflecting on these stories allowed us to connect on a deeper level, highlighting the importance of understanding and embracing our differences.
We wrapped up day one with personal reflections on the day’s activities, using a scale from 0 to 100% to evaluate our experience. The discussions flowed freely, and a delightful dinner in the evening allowed us to relax, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate the day’s achievements.
Day 2: Bridging ideas and cultureÂ
The second day was equally dynamic. While our partners engaged in a productive Transnational Project Meeting, the students embarked on an exciting Odense Landmark Walk. They explored the city’s rich history, visiting enchanting sites like H.C. Andersen’s House, Skt. Canute’s Church, and more. The combination of cultural exploration and project discussions created a perfect balance of learning and enjoyment.
During the project meeting, we discussed the feedback received during the workshop and summarized the results from our piloting phase. Our conversations were rich with insights, paving the way for the next steps in finalizing our platform’s content. An exciting highlight was the announcement of our Final Conference on June 12-13 in Lithuania, where we will showcase our progress and share our findings with a wider audience.
As we concluded the workshop, it was clear that we had not only strengthened our professional ties but also fostered long-lasting friendships. The collective knowledge and diverse perspectives we gained will undoubtedly enrich our ongoing collaboration.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this exciting journey together! 🌟
